Why Emotional Intelligence is the key to effective communication?

The reason why so many people fail in sales and end up burning out eventually is because, sales agents forget one simple truth - potential clients (prospects) love to buy, but hate to be sold.
Your goal as a sales agent and/or a closer is to make the communication with the prospect feel as natural and as seemingly effortless as you could. Forget about all of the old-fashioned sales scripts, that make the prospect feel as a commodity, rather than being someone who is actually important to you. People are not robots, and you will never achieve success in sales and/or business development until you learn how to communicate in an effective and natural way with your potential clients.
You see, by expressing a genuine interest in the problems and challenges that your prospect is facing, you not only get to qualify the prospect better, but also end up building a certain level of trust with the him/her.
Empathy is key.
Remember, people love when others are interested in them and what they have to say. Also, people love to talk about themselves.
So let them talk.
You sit back, relax and listen carefully as in most cases they will give you the blueprint you need to close them.
